BIG HUGECLICK THE DOWNLOAD BUTTON ON THE LEFT SIDEBAR FOR A FULL SIZE OF THIS MEME
This is a giant file (2171px by 2894px) because most people who do sketchwork tend to sketch REALLY big. Feel free to resize at will when you post it or whatever. THERE IS NOW A PART TWO HERE: [link]Interested in helping me out?
Head over to *x-Rook-x
and donate a point or few so I can get a dA artist bag! Any extra points will be tossed back in a random drawing and donated back to those who have donated!
Alrighty so we're going to do a little FAQ on this meme so hopefully people don't ask me the same three questions over and over.Am I allowed to do this meme?
Of course! You don't need to ask for permission because I made it to help people sketch things that they might not normally sketch. My only requirement is that you either post a link back to this account (try using :dev amberneely: without a space or :icon amberneely: if you want to post my icon), or copy-paste the URL of the meme directly into the description. If you don't, I will hunt you down and leave a cranky comment on your page. That's just how I am.I'm nervous, these poses seem hard.
That's actually the point. These aren't easy poses because a lot of people get into a "safety zone" where they will continually draw their characters in the same poses. You have no idea how uninteresting it is to go into someones gallery and see all their characters standing around with their hands on their hips/behind their backs. This is meant to be a challenge. Don't feel terrible if you can't get the hang of it at first, you can always try it a few times, and you are not obligated to post anything you don't like. What does "Bust" mean?
Bust is a drawing of your character from mid-chest and upward. These poses focus mainly on the arms and face, rather than the flow of the whole body. I don't like the poses you picked! This meme is stupid my characters would never be doing anything like this.
Then don't do the meme.I don't have a tablet and I can't draw well with a mouse. Any suggestions how I might do this?
Unlike my last two memes, this one would actually be a pretty bad ink hog if you printed it out. My suggestion is that you draw the poses by hand on paper, scan them in to your computer, and use a program like photoshop or gimp (which is free) to resize and insert them into the spaces. (I'm not going to teach you how to use gimp or photoshop to do this. There is a plethora of fine tutorials on how to use both programs if you just spend a little time getting to know Google.) If you don't like that suggestion, then I don't have anything else helpful for you. The background of the boxes have a texture on it, and I can't use the paintbucket to fill in colors! FIX THIS!
No. If you're really that concerned about not being able to color it, and you don't like to color things with the brush tool and using layers, white out the boxes yourself. I love the wonderful texture on this (supplied by ~struckdumb
), and you wouldn't believe how horrible solid white looked. I think it gives a nicer look that the boxes are a soft, textured grey.
That being said, if you liked the meme and want me to know, hop over to my main account at *x-Rook-x
and post a link on the main page so I can peep at it. Or you can just post the link in the comments here.
But you should still go visit my main page
